Squid is a caching proxy for the Web supporting HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, and more. It reduces bandwidth and improves response times by caching and reusing frequently-requested web pages. Squid has extensive access controls and makes a great server accelerator. Cached content means data is served locally and users will see this through faster download speeds with frequently-used content.

Infinispan is an extremely scalable, highly available key/value NoSQL datastore and distributed data grid platform. The purpose of Infinispan is to expose a data structure that is highly concurrent, designed ground-up to make the most of modern multi-processor/multi-core architectures while at the same time providing distributed cache capabilities. Infinispan offers enterprise features such as efficient eviction algorithms to control memory usage as well as JTA compatibility.

Guava is a set of core libraries that includes new collection types (such as multimap and multiset), immutable collections, a graph library, functional types, an in-memory cache, and APIs/utilities for concurrency, I/O, hashing, primitives, reflection, string processing, and much more. 
It is memory efficient. Its most interesting class is <A HREF="http://google-collections.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/javadoc/com/google/common/collect/MapMaker.html" target="_blank">MapMaker</A>, which is a ConcurrentMap builder, providing any combination of these features: soft or weak keys, soft or weak values, timed expiration, and on-demand computation of values. KeyDB is a high performance fork of Redis with a focus on multithreading, memory efficiency, and high throughput. In addition to multithreading, KeyDB also has features only available in Redis Enterprise such as Active Replication, FLASH storage support, and some not available at all such as direct backup to AWS S3.
 
KeyDB maintains full compatibility with the Redis protocol, modules, and scripts. This includes the atomicity guarantees for scripts and transactions. Because KeyDB keeps in sync with Redis development KeyDB is a superset of Redis functionality, making KeyDB a drop in replacement for existing Redis deployments.
 
In addition to supporting LUA, KeyDB also supports JavaScript using the powerful V8 JIT engine. ModJS lets you write functions in javascript that can in turn be called directly by KeyBD.
