jOOX stands for Java Object Oriented XML. It is a simple wrapper for the org.w3c.dom package, to allow for fluent XML document creation and manipulation where DOM is required but too verbose. jOOX only wraps the underlying document and can be used to enhance DOM, not as an alternative.

documents4j comes with adaptations for MS Word and MS Excel for Windows what allows for example for the conversion of a docx file into a pdf file without the usual distortions in the resulting document which are often observed for conversions that were conducted using non-Microsoft products.

tinylog is a lightweight open-source logging framework for Java and Android, optimized for ease of use. The logger of tinylog is static, so it isn't necessary to create an instance of the logger before logging. By default all log entries of the level info or higher are written to the console. 
 
tinylog is very small, so it's simple to optimize the logging performance e.g. by precompiled patterns. tinylog is thread-safe. So the logger can be used in multi-threaded programs without the need of locking. All log entries are always created and written as a whole. Running on machines with multiple cores, tinylog benefits from the additional cores.

A small library that provide a disk backed map implementation for storing large number of key value pairs. The map implementations (HashMap, HashTable) max out around 3-4Million keys/GB of memory for very simple key/value pairs and in most cases the limit is much lower. DiskBacked map on the other hand can store betweeen 16Million (64bit JVM) to 20Million(32bit JVM) keys/GB, regardless the size of the key/value pairs.

junixsocket is a Java/JNI library that allows the use of Unix Domain Sockets (AF_UNIX sockets) from Java. In contrast to other implementations, junixsocket extends the Java Sockets API (java.net.Socket, java.net.SocketAddress, etc.). It supports RMI over AF_UNIX. It can connect to local MySQL server via Unix domain sockets (provides a AFUNIXDatabaseSocketFactory for Connector/J).

The programming model is language agnostic (does not rely on Java specific constructs) so implementations in other languages are encouraged. The services can run on a set of distributed nodes. Xenon provides replication, synchronization, ordering, and consistency for the state of the services. Because of the distributed nature of Xenon, the services scale well and are highly available.
