Funktion is an open source event driven lambda style programming model on top of Kubernetes. This project provides a command line tool for working with Funktion. It supports hundreds of different trigger endpoint URLs including most network protocols, transports, databases, messaging systems, social networks, cloud services and SaaS offerings.
 
In a sense funktion is a serverless approach to event driven microservices as you focus on just writing funktions and Kubernetes takes care of the rest. Its not that there's no servers; its more that you as the funktion developer don't have to worry about managing them.

Metacontroller is an add-on for Kubernetes that makes it easy to write and deploy custom controllers. While custom resources provide storage for new types of objects, custom controllers define the behavior of a new extension to the Kubernetes API. Kubernetes has made it very easy to deploy applications to the cloud at a higher scale than ever, but the development practices have not evolved at the same speed as application deployment patterns. Today, most developers try to either run parts of the infrastructure locally, or just test these integrations directly in the cluster via CI jobs or the "docker build, docker push, kubectl apply" cycle. It works, but this workflow is painful and incredibly slow.

Stern allows you to tail multiple pods on Kubernetes and multiple containers within the pod. Each result is color coded for quicker debugging. The query is a regular expression so the pod name can easily be filtered and you don't need to specify the exact id (for instance omitting the deployment id). If a pod is deleted it gets removed from tail and if a new pod is added it automatically gets tailed. 
 
When a pod contains multiple containers Stern can tail all of them too without having to do this manually for each one. Simply specify the container flag to limit what containers to show. By default all containers are listened to.

kind is a tool for running local Kubernetes clusters using Docker container "nodes". kind was primarily designed for testing Kubernetes itself, but may be used for local development or CI.
kind is divided into go packages implementing most of the functionality, a command line for users, and a &ldquo;node&rdquo; base image. The intent is that the kind the suite of packages should eventually be importable and reusable by other tools (e.g. <a href="https://github.com/kubernetes/test-infra/tree/master/kubetest" target="_blank" rel="noopener">kubetest</a>) while the CLI provides a quick way to use and debug these packages.
