Prey can use a web URL to check if it should generate and send the report, so you have a way of alerting remotely the program whenever your laptop disappears. It can (and should) be run as root so it doesn’t depend on an active user session to run, but only on a successful boot.

Codestriker is an open-sourced web application which supports online code reviewing. Traditional document reviews are supported, as well as reviewing diffs generated by an SCM (Source Code Management) system and plain unidiff patches. There are integration points with CVS, Subversion, Clearcase, Perforce, Visual SourceSafe and Bugzilla. There is a plug-in architecture for supporting other SCMs and issue tracking systems.

perlbrew is a program to automate the building and installation of perl in an easy way. It installs everything to "~/perl5/perlbrew", and requires you to tweak your PATH by including a shrc/cshrc file it   provides. You then can benefit from not having to run 'sudo' commands to install cpan modules because those are installed inside your HOME too.
