Scrimage is a consistent, idiomatic, and immutable scala library for manipulating and processing of images. The aim of the this library is to provide a quick and easy way to do the kinds of image operations that are most common, such as scaling, rotating, converting between formats and applying filters. It is not intended to provide functionality that might be required by a more "serious" image processing application - such as face recognition or movement tracking.

A typical use case for this library would be creating thumbnails of images uploaded by users in a web app, or resizing a set of images to have a consistent size, or optimizing PNG uploads by users to apply maximum compression, or applying a grayscale filter in a print application.

Gwenview is an image viewer for KDE. Gwenview can load and save all image formats supported by KDE. It can accurately control the way images are scaled. It supports image manipulations like rotation, mirroring, cropping, resizing and red eye reduction. When browsing JPEG images with EXIF information, Gwenview automatically rotates them according to the EXIF Orientation tag.

SeuratJS is a JavaScript library that extends Raphaël and allows for the creation of vivid animations and pixelated artwork using minimal code. It does this by extacting color data from an image of your choice and rebuilding the original with filled graphical primitives in SVG. Seurat makes it extremely easy to alter what primitives are generated (how they look and where they appear) and how they animate.
