Samba is the standard Windows interoperability suite of programs for Linux and Unix. Samba provides file and print services to all manner of SMB/CIFS clients, including the numerous versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems. <BR><BR>Samba provides peaceful coexistence between Unix and Windows.Unfortunately, the two systems come from very different cultures and they have difficulty getting along without mediation. Samba runs on Unix platforms, but speaks to Windows clients like a native. It allows a Unix system to move into a Windows "Network Neighborhood" without causing a stir. Windows users can happily access file and print services without knowing or caring that those services are being offered by a Unix host. It provides centralized view of entire monitored IT infrastructure. In the event of a failure, Nagios can alert technical staff of the problem, allowing them to begin remediation processes before outages affect business processes, end-users or customers.<BR><BR>

  Nagios could be extended via Plugins. It is possible to monitor any probes (temperature, alarms...), which is capable of sending data to specific plugin. It has <B>web and mobile interface</B> for viewing current network status, notifications, problem history, log files, etc.<BR><BR>

GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple Paint program, with full suite of painting tools including Brush, Pencil, Airbrush, Clone, etc.  It supports Photo Enhancement, Digital Retouching, Image format converter, Animation etc.

R is a language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. It is a GNU project which is similar to the S language. VLC media player is a free and open source media player and multimedia framework written by the VideoLAN project. VLC is a portable multimedia player, encoder, and streamer supporting many audio and video codecs and file formats as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.

It is able to stream over networks and to transcode multimedia files and save them into various formats. The default distribution of VLC includes a large number of free decoding and encoding libraries, avoiding the need for finding/calibrating proprietary plugins. VLC is a packet-based media player, and it can play the video content of some damaged, incomplete, or unfinished videos. For example, files still downloading via peer-to-peer (P2P) networks.

Compressed images are fully standards-compliant and are supported by all web browsers and operating systems.

<p>coreboot is aimed at replacing the proprietary BIOS (firmware) found in most computers. coreboot performs a little bit of hardware initialization and then executes additional boot logic, called a payload. coreboot can scale from specialized applications that run directly from firmware, run operating systems in flash, load custom bootloaders, or implement firmware standards, like PC BIOS services or UEFI.</p>
<p>Its design philosophy is to do the bare minimum necessary to ensure that hardware is usable and then pass control to a different program called the <em>payload</em>. The payload can then provide user interfaces, file system drivers, various policies etc. to load the OS.</p>

Joerg Schulenburg started the program, and now leads a team of developers.GOCR can be used with different front-ends, which makes it very easy to port to different OSes and architectures. It can open many different image formats, and its quality have been improving in a daily basis.
