Headwind MDM – Open Source Mobile Device Management System for Android
Headwind MDM is the software for managing corporate mobile (Android-based) devices. System administrators can track phones and tablets, perform bulk installation and update of mobile applications, prevent user from entering the device settings and running unwanted apps.
The software consists of the web-based control panel (running on Tomcat) and the mobile agent (launcher). There is an installer for Ubuntu Linux.
The corporate mobile app developers are able to integrate their applications with Headwind MDM. System administrator can perform bulk setup of the mobile app, and the developer can debug the app by viewing logs in the web-based control panel.
Headwind MDM is designed as a core and a set of plugins (add-ons) like sending images from the device to the server, tracking devices on the map, bulk device setup based on XML lists, and more. The developers can adapt this open source software for their customers' needs by developing their own plugins.
