OpenKylin - China's First Open Source Linux Desktop Operating System
China recently launched it’s first open-source desktop operating system (OS) named as OpenKylin 1.0 to reduce its dependency on US technology and to create China’s independent software system.
OpenKylin is based on Ubuntu remix and is updated with Linux Kernel 6.1. It uses the UKUI (Ultimate Kylin User Interface) desktop environment. The openKylin app store offers some 1,000 third-party software options, including WPS Office, WeChat and QQ, to meet various customer demands in terms of work, life, entertainment and programming. The operating systems of the Kylin series, including openKylin, are available for computers and mobile phones.
Kylinsoft is the company behind OpenKylin. Its source available in Gitee.
